Will the leather change or scratch over time?Our Horween leather is minimally treated with natural oils and waxes and is therefore prone to scuffing and marking in the first few months of use. With time, scuffs and marks will buff out into a rich and lustrous patina. If you’re looking for a perfect finish, this is not the case for you. If you’re after an authentic leather patina, this is absolutely the case for you.How are our cases different from other leather cases?The Horween leather we use is made in the traditional style dating back to 1905. Most leathers use synthetic tanning chemicals, dyes, and sealants to make a "perfect" surface. After so many synthetic treatments, it is hardly leather at all. We opt for handcrafted, traditionally tanned leather.How should I care for my case's leather?Watch our instructional video below on caring for your leather. Exceptional Leather and Craftsmanship, but the Folio Closure Could Be Better
The quality of the Horween leather is exceptional. I really like the design, craftsmanship, and overall build quality of this case. The leather feels premium, looks beautiful, and develops the kind of character I was hoping for. My only disappointment is the folio flap. On my case, the flap did not close neatly and overlapped even before I inserted any credit cards into the wallet side. Once cards are added, I imagine the fit would become even more awkward. Because I liked the leather and construction so much, I decided to modify the case rather than stop using it. I carefully cut off the folio portion, sanded the edge, and conditioned the leather, effectively turning it into a non-folio leather case. I am very happy with it in this form. Overall, the materials and craftsmanship are excellent, but I think the folio dimensions or closure design could be improved.
